Facial Features to Highlight 

There will likely be many hairstyles that suit your face shape; so, here is where you should start. As your hairstylist, I’ll highlight your best features to find a great haircut for your face shape.   

There are a few features to highlight to achieve your best look: 

Heart-Shaped Face:  Use bangs or volume along the sides to draw attention to your eyes and cheekbones. 

 

Long Face:  Go with shorter cuts or styles that have plenty of volume.  Bangs also help and remember the longer your hair is, the longer it will make your face look. 

 

Oval Face: Most every hairstyle flatters this shape. It is probably more important to find a good style for your hair texture. 

 

Round Face:  Haircuts that are below your chin are some of the better options. But you can certainly pull off a pixie too! With wavy or curly hair, be careful not to go too short which may add more width to the cheek area. You can elongate your face with short styles that add volume on top. 

Square Face:  Texture, in the form of curls or choppy ends, does a brilliant job at softening a strong, angular jaw. ​

Great news, most trendy hairstyles can look good on basically any face shape. Including: 

• Bobs

• The pixie

One of my favorite simple cuts are bangs. Flattering on almost all face shapes, bangs can freshen up an ordinary cut. They bring attention to the eyes and can take years off a face.  

 

Pro Tip:  Try cutting your blunt bangs longer on the sides or opt for side-swept bangs, if you have a square face. Both will help to soften your features. 

 

Hair texture is the biggest issue when contemplating bangs. Super wavy and Curly hair and are two of the biggest concerns with bangs, but that doesn’t rule them out entirely.
